At Fordyce Computer Mapping Service, we produce and distribute land ownership maps in the Ark-La-Miss region of the United States. We are located in Fordyce, Arkansas where we continue a family tradition of mapping started by T. P. Smith in 1959. T. P. started out making maps of cities and counties in south Arkansas. Over the years, he shared his mapping expertise with several of his children and allowed them to assist in the family business. The maps they produced proved to be of great benefit to the communities located within their boundries and quickly became popular tools for businesses such as timber companies, agricultural related operations, law firms and many others. This small business continued to grow due to Mr. Smith's hard work and Don's oldest son Russ makes maps in Mississippi and has worked in the mapping business since 1984 when he started working for T. P. while still in high school. Russ has worked with his father for several years making and selling Louisiana parish maps and they still maintain a part time working relationship with each other. With over 40 years of experience in map production, it is a well known fact that the Smith family knows mapping well and will continue to excel in producing the most accurate, professional and up-to-date land ownership maps available. Each land ownership map produced by the Smith Family of Fordyce is professionally drafted using the latest technology in order to provide clientele with clear digital images, while maintaining a near perfect level of detail and accuracy. The information contained therein is presented by section, township and range and scaled at approximately 1.25 inches to the mile displaying current land ownership by name and acreage amount down to 5 acres*.In fact, many Mississippi county and Louisiana parish maps show property boundries of tracts 1 acre in size or even less! Each of the counties or parishes is available in wall map or plat book form. Wall maps are about 42 inches wide by 4-6 feet long and are printed on a heavy duty industrial paper. Plat books are printed on 24 pound paper and are bound with 5/8 inch plastic ring binders enclosed in clear plastic covers. Both maps and plat books are professionally printed and will never fade or deteriorate with proper care. dedication and eventually became known as Smith Mapping Service producing and updating land ownership maps of over 60 counties in Arkansas. In 1989, T. P.'s son Don, expanded this service to communities in Louisiana, where he created Fordyce Mapping Service and continues to produce ownership maps of most of Louisiana's northern parishes. Smith Mapping is currently owned by James Smith, T. P.'s youngest son who is still keeping many of the Arkansas counties up to date. Both Don and James have been in the map business for over 30 years.
